Mark Grubbs, got his first taste of the radio broadcast industry in 1965 as a part-time advertising sales rep for the Oklahoma State University’s campus radio station, KVRO.  Having graduated with a degree in psychology, Mark quickly realized he had a great education, but no marketable skills to support himself.  He then re-enrolled in the Department of Radio and Television, achieving the Dean’s Honor Roll, and earning a second degree that provided a basis for a life-long career in the radio broadcast industry.  Through the years, his career took him to various markets that included Corpus Christi, New Orleans, San Antonio, Austin and ultimately to the Heart of the Texas Hill Country where, in 1994, Mark constructed and signed on-air the first of five radio stations that would become known as Ranch Radio Group.  As a “consummate radio broadcaster”, Mark and his team set the standard in the region for excellence--consistently providing programming that exceeds the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC’s) mandate to “Serve in the Public Interest”.

Across the Hill Country, Ranch Radio Group has been a welcomed partner at county fairs, festivals, parades, wild game dinners and numerous chamber events. Multiple awards acknowledge Mark’s commitment to the Hill Country. They include the Boerne Convention and Visitors Bureau recognizing Mark as Hospitality Hero and the 1,200 members of the Texas Association of Broadcasters awarding Mark and Ranch Radio Group the coveted Bonner McLane Public Service Award  nine separate times in recognition of a wide range of professional and civic activities throughout the Hill Country.
